Accommodations & Pricing

Warner Farms specializes in "walk-on", day hunters.  We advise our guests to lodge and dine locally in our hometowns of; Onida (16 mi.), Gettysburg (30 mi.), and Pierre (50 mi.)

Guests will have at least one experienced guide as well as experienced hunting dogs (both dependant on group size).  Guests will also be chauffeured around in a remodeled school bus to get around on the farm.  The bus is equipped with snack food, soda, and water for the hunt.

In most cases, we hunt until the the group limit (3 birds/hunter) is reached.  However, the day can vary greatly depending on the bird numbers, weather, and the experience of hunters.  If the limit isn't reached, we can hunt until sunset or when there is a mutual agreement between the guides and guests to end the day.

We recommend group sizes of 6-12 hunters for wild pheasant hunting.  Guests are welcome to bring their own hunting dogs.

Walk-On, Daily Rate:  $275.00/gun*

*Guests are responsible for acquiring and bringing their own licenses/tags, ammunition, firearms, and necessary gear.

*Alcohol is not permitted at anytime before or during the hunt.

The farm

Warner Farms raises a wide variety of crops that include: corn, sunflowers, millet, wheat, sorghum, soybeans, pinto beans, and alfalfa.  The variety of crops lends itself as a great food source as well as adequate shelter throughout the year for the wildlife that call our farm home.

history

Warner Farms is a 3rd generation farm established Sully County, South Dakota in 1976.  Warner Farms was one of the first farms in the state to adopt no-till farming practices.  For over 25 years the farm has made conservation of the wildlife a priority by practicing fair chase and by creating and maintaining  a healthy habitat.  By practicing no-till farming we allow for the pheasants to have adequate cover to nest and hide throughout the year with limited disturbance.  We also have put productive land back into native grasses, planted trees and food plots, and run water lines to dams for a water source even during the dry years.
